Accidents in a Public Place

If you are injured in a public place such as a shopping centre, supermarket, restaurant because of a hazard or you tripped, slipped or fell as a result of a dangerous object on the floor, wet floor amongst others, you may be able to recover compensation.

Those responsible for such public areas have a duty to ensure that their premises are safe as far as reasonably possible to prevent injury. If that duty is breached, they may be held responsible for any injury that arises.

A medical expert will need to confirm that the injury was a result of the accident.

We will explain to you how your claim will proceed, how long it will take to settle and how much you can expect to recover.

If you wish, we can make arrangements to visit you at home or a location convenient to you.

All personal injury claims that we take on are dealt with on a ?No Win No Fee? basis. This means that if you lose your case, you pay us nothing. If you are successful with your case, you can recover part of your fees from the losing party or their insurers.

The amount of compensation you get for your injuries depends on the length of time it takes for you to make a full recovery. An independent medical expert will be asked to provide a prognosis for your injuries. In addition to your claim for your injury, you will be able to recover reasonable expenses incurred as a direct result of the accident. These can be travel, medical and miscellaneous expenses. You can also recover any loss of earnings suffered as a result of the accident.

You will receive from us all the compensation we recover on your behalf. Nothing will be deducted from your damages.
